Things to Do
Small and local business are the heart of this Knightdale community. A trip to the local Farmers Market is a chance to meet and chat with the farmers and greet your neighbors. A variety of vendors are available with local produce, artwork, clothing, jewelry and much more! Live entertainment, food truck rodeos and a great day out is all part of the fun. The creative side of Knightdale is showcased through the art galleries and the art center. These feature the works and crafts of talented local artists. Be sure and check out a timeless art and historic local business, The Gallery Located at Stained Glass Associate, Inc. These gorgeous, unique pieces of stained glass for churches and high-end residential projects are on display for the art enthusiast. If you need to get your dog out and about to work off some extra energy, The Ashley Wilder Dog Park located within the Knightdale Station Park is available. Who doesn’t love Strawberries. Well, they are yours for the picking during Strawberry season in North Carolina. That would be mid-April to June depending upon the weather. Pope’s Strawberry Farm is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and gather up some of the juiciest strawberries available. If your feeling like you want to curl up with a book then head over to the East Regional Library. It hosts programs for children and adults and is an inviting spot to sit and relax.

This vibrant, active town of Knightdale has plenty of restaurants to choose from. Oak City Brewing Company is the perfect choice any time of the year. Located in downtown historic Knightdale, the tap house, beer garden and nano brewery backs up to the 76-acre Park. Plus, your family and dog are welcomed too! Barbeque Prime describes themselves as a new grade of BBQ. Redefining the art of smoking, one meat at a time. This is a can’t miss restaurant as the head pitmaster is Christopher Prieto who has been recognized as a 40 Under 40. Craften Neighborhood Food and Drink is reimagining the Food Hall experience. In their own words, Craften is part craft cocktails, part craft kitchens and 100% a space for all ages to enjoy. Having been lovers and workers in the food and beverage industry for most of their lives, it’s been a longtime dream of the owners to create a place where friends and families can enjoy great food and drinks together, all in one convenient spot.
Schools
As one of the fastest growing towns in the state, Knightdale is a part of the highly regarded Wake County Public School System. Numerous options exist from elementary, middle school to high school. If a private education is what you are looking for then check out Thales Academy. It opened in 2007 to offer a high-quality education with a lower cost. Being located so close to Raleigh the options for charter, magnet, private and religious educations are numerous.
Recreation
With an extensive greenway system, Knightdale has a 2.5-mile trail to connect with Raleigh’s Neuse River Trail. Bike, jogging and hiking friendly the trail moves through beautiful forests and provides an extensive area for outdoor recreation. The Neuse River Greenway Trail is 27.5 miles of paved trail with diverse features. The trail offers scenic views of the Neuse River, winding boardwalk areas through wetlands, historical sights, interpretive signs, and agricultural fields. The Neuse River Trail is a segment of the Capital Area Greenway System as well as the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, a long-distance trail that runs across North Carolina from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks. The Neuse River Trail is the longest greenway trail in North Carolina and the longest paved trail between northern Virginia and western Georgia. The Neuse River Trail is a part of the East Coast Greenway, a 3,000-mile-long system of trails connecting Maine to Florida. The centrally located park of Knightdale Station Park includes a beautiful playground, more than two miles of paved walking trails, athletic fields and an amphitheater. Spend the day at Knightdale Environmental Education Park, certified as a Backyard Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Throw a football or enjoy some quiet time with your friends and family. Runners will love the views along the Mingo Creek Park & Trail, which connects to the Neuse River Trail with a combination of boardwalk and paved sections.
